We live in a crisis which is the result of the exhaustion of an economic model that generates inequality and poverty, it is responsible for the overexploitation of natural resources and the destruction of the environment, forerunner of the wildest consumerism. The current crisis is also a crisis of social values, which only recognises a person's material possessions and not the persons themselves. What is Social Responsibility?
An organization is considered to be socially responsible if the purpose of increasing profit is complemented by those principles and values which provide solutions for the new environmental and social challenges. The SR10 specification developed by IQNET (International Certification Network) is a means to integrate the social responsibility into the organization’s strategy and management.
Hungarian Standards Institution (Magyar Szabványügyi Testület, MSZT) published the standard MSZ EN ISO 26000:2021 (ISO 26000:2010) Guidance on Social Responsibility in Hungarian language. .This International Standard is intended to assist organizations in contributing to sustainable development. It is intended to encourage them to go beyond legal compliance, recognizing that compliance with law is a fundamental duty of any organization and an essential part of their social responsibility. The SR 10 specification collects the principles and recommendations of this standard and implements them into practice. It is a management tool that represents progress in the implementation of social responsibility, as the continuous improvement based on the PDCA-cycle. Through the systematic and integrated approach, it contributes to sustainable development and to meet the needs and expectations of the stakeholders through transparent and ethical behaviour. It is applicable for all types of organizations, easy to integrate with other management systems, its main clauses can be paralleled with the clauses of the standard MSZ EN ISO 9001:2015. During certification, it is a key aspect to review the requirements that must be fulfilled by the organization regarding the following stakeholders:
- owners, shareholders, investors;
- employees;
- customers, users and consumers;
- product suppliers, service providers and partners;
- alliances and collaborative partners;
- competitors;
- government;
- community and society;
- environment.
Qualified auditors and experts of MSZT are competent for the certification based on SR 10. It is possible to harmonize the existing MSZ EN ISO 9001, MSZ EN ISO 14001, and MSZ ISO 45001 management systems with the specification SR 10. The joint, integrated certification of the two or more systems carried out by MSZT is available for our clients.
