Certification of conformity of children's playground equipment
Why is it necessary to certify the children's playground equipment?
On 1 February, 2004 Minister of Economy and Transport put the decree 78/2003.
(XI. 27.) GKM on the safety of children's playground into force.
The decree includes specifications for the manufacturers, importers, distributors.
The children's playground equipment may be released if it meets the requirements
and this is verified by a conformity certificate.
The conformity of the children's playground equipment to the laws, standard
shall be assessed by organisations designated by the Minister of Economy and
Transport.
The Hungarian Standards Institutions (MSZT) as a non-profit public body, independent
from manufacturers that wants to take an active part in the safety of children's
playground equipment and by this in the safety of children's playground, asked
its designation from the competent minister.
The Minister of Economy and Transport qualified MSZT as competent and designated
it for checking of the children's playground equipment under the registration
number 074/2004.
How does the certification system work?
The certification system meets the requirements of implemented European
standard MSZ EN 45011:1999 "General criteria for the operation of various
types of bodies performing product certification".
MSZT evaluates the conformity of children's playground equipment based on
the decree 78/2003. (XI. 27.) GKM on safety of children's playground equipment
and the MSZ EN 1176 series of standard and MSZ EN 1177 standard related to
the decree.
